HMS Beagle is helping us host Yuri's Night on April 11th
It will be an all day event with rocket launches from 11:00am till Dusk, then afterwords the movie October Sky will be shown inside HMS Beagle, along with an astronomy party outside afterwords. KCAR will be doing several things on site. We will be helping launch rockets all day, while running a conession stand durring the entire event.
We will have a sign up sheet because we'll need to have over 12 hrs of coverage durring that time. Please give the President a call or send him an email at

Friday night Alan and Randall gave a show and tell on rocketry for the scout Camporee held at Shawnne park. Since we started at 8 PM we obviously did not fly anything. The scout leader that I had been in contact with wanted to try and get an early start to the campout. This was the first time they had any classes of any kind going on Friday night. Unfortunately for the kids we were unable to fly anything. If the kids could have had there way we would have been there until midnight flying everything and anything.
The basic show and tell went well with about 30-40 kids and 10 or so adults. The kids were al very interested and many questions were asked. Randall brought several big rockets and I brought out my R/C gliders. I also brought out several unbuilt kits of the same things that I had on display already built. What I wanted to challenge the kids to BUILD something, not just get a RTF rocket.
I think all in all it was a good time and some interest was sparked. Flyers were given out to the scout leaders for the club and I expect to see some of them out at Shawnee Mission. |

We have rcvd our first Rocketry Assist request for 2010. The RAYTOWN Middle School on Pittman Rpad.
So , Save the date to assist the teachers and the students on MAY 25 , 26 TUESDAY / WEDNESDAY. This is the Pittman Road Middle school ( the other Middle School is expected to rqst their dates soon)this is from our instructor contact at RMS, Chris
